In the past 1 year, I've watched a lot of korean dramas. Too many, perhaps. Well I kinda got bored and started to rank them. Some were current shows at the time, some were old shows that I never got to watch before.

Now before I start the controversies, I want to explain my criteria (not in any particular order): 1) How fast did I finish each drama? e.g. I finished 'Full House' - 16 episodes (most shows are 16 episodes) - in a week. 2) Would I ever consider watching it again down the road. 3) How much in love was I with the female actress from the drama after finishing? 4) Was the story good? 5) How good was acting?

12) Smile Again - the only good thing I can say about this drama is that Kim Hee-Sun looked as beautiful as ever - probably the only thing that kept me watching until the end. one of the worst endings i've ever seen. don't watch this.

11) Da Mo - kinda weak on criteria 1, 2, 3. But strong on 4 and 5.

10) One Fine Day (Uh Neu Mut Jin Nal) - strong on 3, but I was kinda in love with the actress even before I watched this so...

9) I'm sorry, I love you (Mi Ahn Ha Da Sa Rang Han Da) - very intriguing storyline. also, very good acting. very emotionally draining.

8) Lovers in Prague (Praha) - Jun Do-Yun is cute in this drama. very cute. the story is alright.

7) Sweet Spy - a delightful surprise. i would actually watch this again someday. i loved the story - it's really a spy drama, believe it or not.

6) Yun-Ae Shi-Dae (Season of Dating) - superb acting. i absolutely love Son YeJin. I could probably enjoy it if I watch it again right now.

5) Soulmate - this is actually a 12-episode sitcom-style drama. hilarious. loved the sound track. i highly recommend this one.

4) My name is Kim Sam-Soon - extremely funny. good storyline. good acting. a little weak on criterion #3.

3) Boo Hwal - story-wise, the best one i've watched in the past year. pretty complicated plot - you must be very good in korean to fully understand what's going on. very strong on all criteria.

2) Full House - a surprise that I stumbled upon. my friend Q's quote: "I want a girl EXACTLY like the girl from this drama" - referring to Song Hye Gyo character. I agree 95%. Very very adorable. I finished this in less than 1 week. fastest ever, not counting '24'.

1) Goong - it's a drama based on a comic book, and yet, I felt emotionally close to every character of this drama more than any other. weird, but it was that good. Yoon Eun-Hae made my permanent favorite list because of this. haha.

I feel like I'm missing a few, but this is pretty much it. Is it lame that I'm ranking korean dramas? absolutely. Am i ashamed to be watching them? hell no.

pansy... lol nice break down of dramas... but i disagree, if full house is #2. i feel like not watching korean dramas... lol, i saw samsoon recently.. i liked that one although the ending was weird... strange how sex is so prevalent in korean dramas now
